What in the world was my name doing on a NY Times movie review page??

Upon further investigation (ie, clicking the link) it turns out that i make a cameo (i assume) in a film called, "Aaron Rosand: Celebrating a Life in Music". I write "assume" because for some reason i can't open the link properly in my browser. Anyone catch the preview of the film? How does my hair look? Does my leg keep jumping around too much? Is my tie on straight?

LOL - somehow i don't think the Paparazzi will be hounding me on the PATCO high speed line anytime soon...congratulations to my esteemed colleague Aaron Rosand on the release of this new film!

Doh! My Springfield Alter-Ego

I'm not a big Simpsons' fan, and don't really have a burning desire to see the new movie, but i couldn't resist the marketing ploy from Burger King that enables you to create a "Simpsonized" version of your photo! Got this idea like a good lemming from Michael over at his MMusing blog...better watch out before i start developing an appetite for doooooohhhnuts.....

The Secret Life of Benjamin Franklin

Being a Philadelphia native, i grew up with the communal reverence for one of the city's most beloved sons, Benjamin Franklin. Imagine my surprise when i saw this poster in the Philadelphia Airport on my way down to Florida:

I never knew Ben Franklin was an android!

Yes, this is the inner geek in me, recognizing Brent Spiner who portrayed that lovable android Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation (by far the best Trek series, in my opinion). Or at least...that's an awfully close facsimile of Mr. Spiner...

Music is Pain

Boing Boing has a bizarre post about a group of Ethnomusicologists protesting the use of music as a torture device (blaring heavy metal or nonsensical music from 'Sesame Street' and the like)...just don't tell the military about the deadly effects of listening to a full day of auditions...or Czerny exercises ad nauseum...
