Music As Food - Stephanie Ben-Salem on The Cunningham Piano Show

For pianist Stephanie Ben-Salem, music is like food – playing the piano on a daily basis is an essential part of Stephanie’s existence. Her love of music came from her childhood in a musical family, with a father who loved classical music and a mother who was an opera singer. She even has memories of music from when she was in her mother’s womb! Stephanie especially enjoys teaching adult students at Philadelphia’s famed Settlement Music School. For this episode, Stephanie performed a work that was a favorite of her mother, who passed away a few months before this episode was taped.
