4Friday
4Friday is a new weekly series where I share 4 random songs or musical ideas that I think you'll find interesting.
I will confess, I'm borrowing the idea from Tim Ferriss' "5-bullet Friday" - I hope you enjoy my flavor of this weekly musical curation!

Here is a sumptuous movement from a violin concerto by American composer Daron Hagen, titled "Look Away", performed by violinist Michael Ludwig and conducted by JoAnn Falletta with the Buffalo Philharmonic. Like diving into musical chocolate!

One of my online piano students has been sharing a lot of songs by Max Richter, a German-born British post-minimalist composer whose music has been featured in lots of movies. The latest Richter song she's been working on is called "Written On The Sky". Lovely!

MusicNotes.com is the largest online resource for digital sheet music. Like Max Richter's song? You can get the piano sheet music downloaded immediately and start playing it right away. Here's the link to "Written in the Sky": http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0139684

I just discovered a fascinating Classical Music Blog by London-based pianist, piano teacher, writer, music reviewer, and blogger Frances Wilson: http://crosseyedpianist.com/ - I particularly enjoyed her insightful rebuttal to an old 2002 article from The Guardian, titled "Why Are Today's Concert Pianists So Boring?"
Do you enjoy these selections? If so, please forward this to a friend and suggest that they sign up for my newsletter. I would love to hear from you with your feedback and suggestions. Send a tweet to @hughsung or drop by my website and leave a comment.
Thanks so much!
