Thursday's Thought: A better way for artists to raise money

Crowd-funding sites like Kickstarter require fundraisers to meet their stated goals or risk not getting anything. Here's a much better way to raise - and keep - money to fund your artistic pursuits.

Patreon describes itself as a "Internet tip jar" for fans to support their favorite artists, a few dollars at a time.  Despite recent news of the site being hacked, I still think this is a resource that artists should seriously consider setting up for themselves. Key things will be to create a good promotional video and to be consistent with either creating content or keeping in touch with your fans.
