A Taste of Harmony
After a 12 hour flight from L.A. to Tokyo Narita airport, Dwayne managed to nearly get arrested (man, we can't take that guy anywhere!) and then we proceeded to take a train to Shinagawa, about an hour away. Our first dinner in Japan was at a fantastic restaurant called Hibiki, which roughly translates as "sound" or "harmony" - what an appropriate place for Yamaha piano reps! Kazu Hosoya, our Yamaha liaison and guide, is making a point of taking us to his favorite restaurants on this trip, and we're definitely off to a fantastic start! One interesting drink that I thought I was trying for the first time was "shoju" - it tasted strangely familiar - and it wasn't until I started editing this video that I realized, DUH! Japanese "shoju" is the same as Korean "SOJU"! Kazu loves the barley flavored variety, while I prefer the potato flavor, which is what most Korean soju tastes like, I believe. Anywho, an incredible display of fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and pristine preparation. I love eating in Japan!
