Yamaha Japan Trip Day 5: Yakitori
At the end of our 5th day of piano workshop training, our fabulous Yamaha liaison and host Kazu-san continued his tour of Japanese cuisine by introducing us to Yakitori. Yakitori is a style of barbecue chicken skewers specially grilled over charcoals. Several cuts of chicken were presented, some seasoned with Teriyaki sauce, others with simple sea salt, all extremely delicious. In addition to the Yakitori, we had a fascinating fishball and radish stew called Odeng (?) - I think that’s what it’s called, it sounded very similar to the word we use in Korean for a similar type of stew.
And check out the cute pepper shaker! I wish I brought one of these home with me…
